Community Kids

Community Kids Afterschool Homework Assistance started at a kitchen table in 2001. Then, in 2004, Community Kids moved into a new building with a computer lab, reading area and homework area. Volunteer tutors from the community help the children with their homework, crafts, and provide a safe place for the neighborhood kids.

In the summer Community Kids program hosts special events and gatherings for the children of the community touching these young lives for eternity...

College age interns with a heart to serve Jesus Christ and children lead the Children's After School Homework Assistance Program. They are working with all of the children of our community. With our children coming from several different nations & cultures these interns' love for Christ  (and the children) has a had a major impact on the families of Wherry Housing Community.

In the 2010/2011 school year, this program was the number 1 volunteer site for our local high school students.
